I decluttered some of my stuff and other people's stuff in my room. Comments Avoid desire because it causes suffering. When you don't desire anything, you don't suffer. This does not mean that you won't get good things through good karma for good actions in the past. It means you don't desire material goods, circumstances and people. Instead you are grateful for what you have at the moment and you utilise your time by being kind and loving to others. Putting other people's welfare before your own is kind and desire is not kind. Examples of kindness is giving things to others including money and gifts, helping others including doing the gardening or housework or cooking vegetarian or vegan food for free for someone, opening the door for someone, giving up your seat in the bus or tube for someone who is standing, carrying heavy luggage for someone, helping with cooking food or/and serving food at a soup kitchen which is providing food for those on low income, homeless or unemployed, donating food to a food bank, donating money to charity, volunteering time to help a charity deliver a service to the community. When you are kind, you get good karma which means good things happen to you. This can include health benefits, getting good housing, receiving material goods, getting a good job, relating better with people, getting more money and living in a nice attractive environment. This is the teaching of Buddha to end suffering. Try your hardest to be kind and do kind deeds everyday and save up a treasure chest of lots of good karma towards you in the future. Good Karma - my blessings - what I have gained from kind actions in the past - What I am grateful for today: A free roof over my head. Somewhere to sleep, put my stuff in, to work in, to live in and to shelter me from the harsh weather conditions. Food everyday prepared by my housemate. Clothes to wear especially in the cold weather. Being alive and able to walk, having my five senses, namely being able to taste, talk, hear, see, smell and feel. Having hair on my head. Having clean water. Having a shower Having a sink Having a toilet Good housemates. Free travel. Benefits. Shops where I can buy merchandise that is useful. Shampoo that has healed the psoriasis on my scalp and hairline.

Keep being nice to people, whatever news you get. Don't let any news pull you down. Have goals and try to attain them. When you attain them, you will be happy and you will be successful. Try achieving one goal at a time. Write down each of your goals then make an effort to achieve them one at a time. Keep a journal of your journey towards achieving your goals. The journal will help you achieve your goals by reminding you of your goals every day and your progress towards achieving your goals.

I helped a housemate get the drinks and snacks from upstairs for the guests because she finds it hard to climb the stairs. I helped a housemate get the serving dishes she needs to put the food in for the guests. I helped a housemate serve the guests drinks and snacks. Comments The aim of Buddhism is to end suffering. That is wonderful. To end suffering you need to know the four noble truths. The first noble truth is what suffering is (dukkha). Suffering is feeling physical pain when ill or emotional pain when treated cruelly or coldly, Suffering is losing contact with someone who was kind to you. Suffering is losing something or things that allow you to communicate with people who are being kind to you. Suffering is being separated from everyone who is kind to you. Human inflicted suffering is cruelty. Suffering is worrying about anything at all. For example, worrying about death. The second noble truth is what is the cause of suffering. The first cause of suffering is attachment to people and things. When you attach yourself to anyone or anything, you suffer when you lose that person or thing. Attachment is a strong feeling for a person or thing. It is holding on to a person or thing. The second cause of suffering is craving things such as certificates, food, money and other things you can buy from the shop and not having your craving satiated. The third cause of suffering is ignorance (samudaya) which is not knowing the truth. This leads to believing lies which makes you sad because you don't know the truth. You are guessing the truth. You are getting worked up because you don't know the exact truth. You guess things that are not the truth and this can lead you anywhere and you can think anything in your made up story. You can end up getting angry about a story you made up to support your guess of what the truth is. The third noble truth is that suffering can end by letting go of attachments and ceasing desire and craving for things and people. The fourth noble truth is the noble eightfold path that leads to the end of suffering. This path is as follows: Right Understanding - Knowing the true answer to why Right Intention - Doing actions and saying words out of kindness and harmlessness and not doing actions and saying words to harm the other. Not being attached to anything or anyone when reacting to an action or words. Right Speech: Speaking truthfully, kindly, and constructively (not destructively). Right Action: Doing kind actions that don't harm oneself or others. For example, visiting someone in jail or hospital to help them feel happy by being friendly and warm towards them. You can bring them a bottle of drinking water and a book on Buddhism to help make them happy. Right Livelihood: Choosing to study a course for work and to do a job that is kind and doesn't harm others. Right Effort: Making an effort to be kind, loving, hard-working, generous and honest instead of being hateful, lazy, dishonest and angry. Right Mindfulness: Thinking about what I am doing in the present moment and focusing my attention on what I am doing in the present moment. Right Concentration: Concentrating on what I am doing and thinking whilst doing it of how to do what I am doing in a kind and harmless manner. If you follow the noble eightfold path then you will be of a very noble character and will end suffering in your locality and possibly throughout the world by being kind, generous, honest, harmless and friendly. Everyone should have a voice including the animals. I will stand up for the animals' rights to live and the animals' right to live a good quality life. Everyone ought to live the life they want to live harmlessly and kindly.

I cleaned the bathroom. I emptied the bins. I watered the flowers in the front and back garden. I took food upstairs for one of my housemates who has difficulty climbing the stairs. I helped pack the food in plastic bags to put upstairs in the freezer. I acknowledged the moth flying in my room and the moth flew towards me. A moth is a person equal in importance to each of us and every moth matters as much as every human matters. Food for thought Buddhism encourages us to be kind selflessly. For example, we are taught to be generous without expecting gratitude from the people we are being generous towards. We are expected to do the right thing to achieve good karma in the future and if still in the cycle of samsara then to obtain a good rebirth and if we reach enlightenment then we are free from the death and rebirth cycle and we reach a state of perfect happiness forever called Nirvana. Once we have no desires and no attachment to anything or anyone in the physical world, we reach enlightenment and hence Nirvana. The point of life is to heap excessive kindness upon each person we meet and to be generous in our kindness. You can never be too kind as a Buddhist. Why eat plants and animals when both are people and sensitive beings. Eating a plant or animal is equal to eating a human. It is gross to eat living beings. There is no food on planet earth. We live off kindness not food. We don't need food we need loving-kindness (metta) from each person we meet. What is loving-kindness shown towards others? Wanting other living beings to be happy. Acknowledging people warmly when you see them instead of avoiding them and ignoring them rudely. Even if they ignore you when you acknowledge them, you are kind and will achieve good karma in the future. Keep on filling up your bucket of good karma by doing kind/good deeds. With high enough karma, you may reach enlightenment, the state of perfect happiness. Keep doing good deeds regardless of the way people react to you. You will be well rewarded in the future. Every good action, you do gives a reward of good karma in the future guaranteed. You can never lose anything by being kind to living beings and you gain so much good stuff in the future such as good health, vitality, beautiful looks, great personality, lots of friends and the constant feeling of ecstasy within. Buddhism encourages us not to attach ourselves to a best friend but to be equally kind and loving to everyone we meet. This means acknowledging everyone we meet with a massive friendly smile regardless of whether they smile first or don't smile at all. Then we can also say 'hi' to them to make them feel welcome. We can ask them how they are doing to show we care about them. We can offer them some comfort by being pleasant, giving them a hug or shaking hands or/and saying I hope everything will be okay to show we want the best for them and mean them good tidings. Money is for giving. Every time you give someone money whether for free or in exchange for something, you are being kind and you will get good karma in the future. Give and you are kind. The more you give, the kinder you are. Every time you give money to someone, you make them happy even if they don't show gratitude. So give money to anyone and make anyone happy today. For giving, you will get good actions back to you in the future, the law of karma.

I emptied the bins today to help out my housemates. I chatted on WhatsApp with friends to be kind to them and to not treat them like rubbish and hurt their feelings. I washed my laundry so that my clothes smell fresh. Comments Today I thought about plants as well as animals being people (living organisms like humans are) and I thought that if humans were nice to plants and animals, they would be nice to humans too and not have wars, fights and arguments anymore. Today I thought that since plants are people and animals are people, there is no food on planet earth because anything that could be food is a person. So to be kind, you can't eat anyone. I have seen plants that were people and seen plant people in my food before and heard a voice coming out of a tomato before too. This convinces me that plants are not food. Also in biology in secondary school, we learnt that plants, animals and humans are all alive as living organisms so there is no food, clothes or things to buy from the shops because everyone is alive. When you are kind to other living organisms, your body is skinny and beautiful because you don't harm anyone. I heard a voice in water too, making me think that there is life in water too so maybe water is not a drink. Also after sipping water, I develop a cough with contains phlegm and I have a pain in my stomach and this is very uncomfortable so I don't want to drink water anymore either. When I don't drink water, I don't have a cough and I don't have a pain in my stomach either.
